Attendees at the Australian Computer Emergency Response Team (AusCERT) conference which ended a few days ago, were astonished to recieve a message from IBM warning them that the USB devices that had been handed out at the conference potentially were affected by malware, and for the USBs to be returned to IBM’s address in Sydney.
People who visited the IBM booth at the conference were given the USB devices.
The important lesson here: beware of free things? Or perhaps, beware of devices that cause your computer harm!
